Richard Godfrey, the mastermind behind Hashiru, brings over fifteen years of experience in Digital, Efficiency, and Change, with extensive knowledge spanning both the public and private sectors. His diverse background and innovative mindset uniquely position him to understand and address the challenges businesses face today.

A Career Rooted in Leadership, Strategy, and Team Empowerment

Richard’s leadership journey began with a strong foundation in Sport and Exercise Science at university, where he developed an early understanding of performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement. These principles would later underpin his career in leadership and strategic alignment.

His professional career started in local government, where Richard gained invaluable experience managing large teams within complex organisations. He quickly identified the universal challenge of ensuring alignment, trust, and accountability while maintaining a sense of control. His notable achievements include winning AWS’ City on a Cloud competition, being part of the team that won the World's Smartest City in 2015, and being named a Digital Leaders 100 Club member as well as one of Computer Weekly’s Rising Stars. Richard is also the author of two books on digital and data.

Richard transitioned to the private sector, where he took on diverse roles in Sales, Operations, Policy, and Contract Management.
